AOC Says Her Goals Are 'Greater' Than Just Running for President

Ocasio-Cortez’s Ambitions Extend Beyond Presidency

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) shared on Friday that her aspirations reach well beyond a potential presidential run.

At an event in Chicago, Democratic strategist David Axelrod mentioned that many people are hoping she’ll run for president in 2028 and inquired about her thoughts on this. Fox News reported on this conversation.

She brought up a remark from an op-ed by Jeff Bezos in the Washington Post, which referenced her as a “likely candidate in 2028.” Ocasio-Cortez interpreted this as a thinly veiled threat from the elites. “They seem to think my ambitions are about titles or positions,” she stated. “But they’re not just that. I want to change this country. Elected officials come and go, but initiatives like single-payer healthcare, living wages, and workers’ rights have a lasting impact.”

Democratic leaders have stated that decisions will be made by evaluating “the state of this country” and asking, “What actions can we take today that will accelerate our progress towards a brighter future?”

In 2023, it was reported that a former aide of Ocasio-Cortez, who identifies as a socialist, has obtained a prominent position in the New York State Communist Party.

Furthermore, there’s speculation within far-left circles about Ocasio-Cortez potentially running for president, alongside other Democratic figures aiming to reclaim the White House.

Notable Democrats mentioned include Governor Gavin Newsom (California), former Vice President Kamala Harris, Governor Gretchen Whitmer (Michigan), and former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, among others.

Ocasio-Cortez also made headlines recently for spending $2,000 in campaign funds on a celebrity makeup artist and redirecting nearly $19,000 for a psychiatrist specializing in ketamine therapy, as reported by Breitbart News.

Additionally, she made a statement suggesting that the United States could “already have a gay president.”
