New Yorker Found Dead in Jamaica Was Left at Hospital

Search for Husband Following Brutal Murder of New York Woman in Jamaica

A search is underway for the husband of a New York woman who was tragically murdered on April 29 during a birthday getaway in Jamaica.

The victim has been identified as Melissa Kelly Samnath, while her spouse, Dane Watson, has emerged as a person of interest, according to reports. Just hours before her death, Samantha sent a concerning message to her family, urging them to alert police and mentioning a “pink house.”

She had recently arrived on vacation, and security footage captured the couple walking from their Airbnb to what is believed to be Watson’s home. Hours later, he allegedly left her at Cornwall Regional Hospital in St. James.

An autopsy revealed that Somnath, who was found in critical condition in a wheelchair outside the hospital, died from blunt force trauma to the head. Authorities are treating this as a potential homicide. Medical experts explain that such injuries typically arise from a significant impact or forceful movement.

It has been reported that the pink house belongs to Watson, but he was not present when police arrived to investigate the scene, where blood and personal belongings of the victim were discovered.

According to sources, Somnath and Watson met online and tied the knot in December.

In a recent interview, Somnath’s sister, Riza Marie Somnath, shared that Watson’s mother reached out, mentioning that her son had informed her about the situation involving his sister.

Somnath, an accountant and the youngest of four siblings, is deeply mourned by her family. A GoFundMe page created in her honor reflects the family’s grief, stating, “With deep hearts, we share the passing of our beloved aunt, Melissa Kelly Somnath.” They described her as a strong and loving individual whose warmth impacted everyone around her, and noted that her death has left an indescribable void.

Authorities are now urging Watson to turn himself in, and are appealing to anyone who might have more information regarding his whereabouts to come forward.
