Bruce Springsteen leaves devoted fan Chris Christie in a tough moment during a concert in NYC

Bruce Springsteen had an awkward interaction with Chris Christie during a recent concert, which was captured in a video that quickly became popular online.

In the clip, Springsteen is seen moving through the audience and seemingly bypassing the former New Jersey governor at the Brooklyn show. Christie, like many fans, reached out to Springsteen, but the 76-year-old musician didn’t seem to acknowledge him. It’s hard to tell if this was intentional or not. Springsteen’s representatives have been contacted for clarification.

Despite the moment, Christie appeared unfazed, joining in the applause as the concert continued.

User Mike Ryan shared online, “Hahaha, Bruce Springsteen didn’t get along with Chris Christie. The snub!” but reactions varied across social media.

One commenter suggested that Springsteen might have thought Christie was just someone directing him, while another insisted, “Christie is a huge Bruce fan. You can see him in the MSG live video from a few years ago.” Some users believed they were on friendly terms, noting that Springsteen may not have even recognized him.

Springsteen has been openly critical of Republican policies, particularly those of Donald Trump, throughout his current tour.

During the opening night of his “Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour,” Springsteen made several pointed political statements. “We live in very dark times,” he said to the audience, according to reports. “The American values that have supported our nation for 250 years are being challenged like never before.” He emphasized the dangers facing young people in “unconstitutional and illegal” conflicts and voiced concerns about undocumented immigrants facing detention and deportation without due process.

Springsteen also criticized prevailing government actions, directing his comments toward the White House. He expressed strong sentiments regarding wealth disparity and corruption, stating, “While working Americans are struggling, the president and his family are lining their own pockets.” He lamented that the U.S. is no longer viewed as a defender of democracy, suggesting that the current administration has tarnished the country’s global reputation.
