New Developments in Carl Pavano’s Divorce Drama
The saga surrounding Carl Pavano and his ex-wife, Alyssa, has taken a significant twist recently. On Friday, a judge granted Alyssa a restraining order against the former Yankees pitcher, mandating that he surrender his firearms. If he engages in stalking, harassment, threats, or assault, he could face felony charges, as reported by CT Insider.
However, Judge Stephen Dembo denied Alyssa’s request to prevent her from entering their shared home, where they are co-parenting their three children. He acknowledged her concerns and fears stemming from her ex-husband’s behavior.
Alyssa spent hours in court detailing her experiences, claiming that actions such as urinating in shampoo bottles and dirtying her bedsheets have left her in a state of constant anxiety and fear, especially since they live together in a large house of 10,000 square feet.
“He absolutely terrified me during the two years we had to live in the same room during our divorce,” she recounted while testifying.
She shared with the judge that she struggles with sleep deprivation and feels like she’s “walking on eggshells,” particularly when Carl appears unexpectedly in her room. To make matters worse, he plays his favorite song, “Bartender,” to help him sleep, adding another layer of discomfort for her, according to CT Insider.
Interestingly, Carl opted not to testify, alongside his lawyer, Michael T. Meehan. They asserted that he would deny Alyssa’s allegations and emphasized that, as the homeowner, he has the right to stay there.
Alyssa’s attorney, Gary Cohen, mentioned that due to the unclear nature of the judge’s ruling, both parties might have future discussions to clarify terms.
The turmoil between the two began when Alyssa sought to have a prenuptial agreement signed in Florida invalidated, claiming it was coerced. She argues that she “had to” sign away her rights to housing, employment, and financial independence.
The court ultimately ruled the prenup valid, but Judge Thomas O’Neill awarded Alyssa a $300,000 one-time payment. Furthermore, he ordered Carl to provide her with a house valued up to $1 million, along with $50,000 in jewelry and a new car.
Alyssa revealed that Carl had offered her $1.24 million for a new home if she dropped the appeal regarding the prenup.
An affidavit, referenced by CT Insider, highlighted some alarming behaviors, including a photo of several firearms displayed on a kitchen table that Carl shared in a family group chat shortly after divorce papers were filed. The message accompanying the photo simply stated, “Hold the fort.”
Allyssa also claimed that Carl intentionally dirtied the bed she used while raising their child and removed all clean linens from the house to make it unsafe for her.
Last week, it was reported that Carl was suspected of attempting to “stuff drugs” into Alyssa’s possessions in a scheme to take their children.
Furthermore, records show that police have been called to their home nine times since 2024, with three officers testifying about these incidents during court proceedings.
The couple first crossed paths in Florida back in 2005 but stopped communicating when Alyssa discovered Carl allegedly had another relationship. Afterward, he remarried in 2007 and tied the knot again in 2011.
Carl Pavano, who played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball, signed a four-year, $39.5 million contract with the Yankees ahead of the 2005 season. However, his performance was less than stellar, starting only 26 games over three seasons and maintaining a 5.00 ERA, earning him the moniker “American Idol” from a Post journalist, due to his struggle to remain on the field.
