Kimberly Williams-Paisley’s Marriage Insights

Kimberly Williams-Paisley recently shared the simple secret behind her long-lasting marriage with country artist Brad Paisley: “Don’t leave.”

Speaking to Fox News Digital at the TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood, she referenced Jamie Lee Curtis’s advice on sustaining a relationship. “That was our secret,” she said, reflecting on their 23 years together.

Despite their busy careers, the 54-year-old actress emphasized the importance of making time for each other. “You have to be deliberate about finding time,” she explained. “Sometimes we’re busy, sometimes we’re not. Right now, I’m the busier one, but he’s about to start touring this summer, so it’ll shift. Yet, when we have downtime, we really cherish it.”

This year, for their wedding anniversary, Brad surprised her with a heartfelt letter, which Williams-Paisley found meaningful, given how long it had been since she received something like it.

On a different note, the actress faced a challenging period with her health, having been diagnosed with partial vocal cord paralysis. This condition left her speaking only in whispers for two years.

After a series of vocal surgeries, she was finally able to have implants. “Don’t give up,” she advised others facing similar health issues. “I was fortunate to find answers, and it pushed me to make healthy changes I hadn’t considered before. I began taking up meditation, committed to weight training, and improved my diet while searching for solutions.”

She shared that this journey ultimately transformed her life, making her feel “more grounded and centered, and better at understanding myself.”

Reflecting on her hardships, she realized, “There’s a blessing in every hardship. Look for it,” adding that she appreciates her health all the more now.

Williams-Paisley also reminisced about her early career, working with Steve Martin and the late Diane Keaton in “Father of the Bride.” Presenting the film at the festival, she recalled feeling like she was shot out of a cannon at just 19. “They were incredibly supportive, guiding me through everything,” she noted.

Martin’s main piece of advice was to find a good therapist, which she found wise. Keaton, on the other hand, was approachable and easy to talk to, making it easier to navigate the complexities of the industry.

“Watching Steve Martin and Martin Short together was just hilarious. I can only imagine the outtakes,” she concluded with a laugh.
