The Italian Open wraps up today with the men’s final featuring Casper Ruud, currently ranked No. 23, against Jannik Sinner, the world No. 1.
Today presents a significant opportunity for Sinner. Competing in his home country, he has a chance to make history by becoming the second, and the youngest, player to complete a career Golden Masters by winning all nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments. The only player to accomplish this so far is Novak Djokovic.
Throughout their careers, Sinner and Ruud have clashed four times, most recently during the quarterfinals of last year’s Italian Open, with Sinner winning each of those encounters.
