Rededication 250 Event Celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary

Key figures from the Trump administration are slated to speak at the Rededication 250 prayer event on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. This gathering is part of the celebrations marking the nation’s 250th anniversary.

July 4, 2026, will mark 250 years since American independence. President Trump encourages a national celebration for this significant milestone, supported by the Freedom 250 initiatives. The Sunday event is designed as a “national jubilee of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving.”

Today, thousands of Americans are expected to gather on the National Mall for a day filled with prayer, worship, and patriotism—setting the stage for America’s next 250 years and reaffirming the nation’s commitment to being one nation under God.

Recently back from a summit in China, Trump took to Truth Social to express his support for the event. He noted, “I hope everyone at Rededication 250 is having a great time. If there’s anything I can do to help, just let me know.” It’s an interesting twist, right?

As reported, Trump is set to address attendees via a video message. Other speakers would also join through pre-recorded segments.

The speaker lineup includes several notable Republican leaders, such as:

  • Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.)
  • Secretary of State Marco Rubio
  • Secretary of the Army Pete Hegseth
  • Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and more

During his pre-recorded message, Hegseth drew on George Washington’s example, calling for continuous prayer for the nation.

“Let’s pray like he did. Let’s pray without ceasing. Let’s pray for our country on bended knee,” he emphasized.

The event will also include various religious leaders, for instance:

  • Franklin Graham, son of the notable evangelist Billy Graham
  • Cardinal Timothy Dolan, former Archbishop of New York
  • Rabbi Meir Soloveitchik of Congregation Sherith Israel
  • Gordon P. Robertson, President of Regent University

Other notable figures include actor Jonathan Roomy, known for his role as Jesus in “The Chosen,” and Dr. Alveda C. King, niece of the civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

The event will showcase musical acts like the U.S. Marine Corps Band, the U.S. Navy Band, and Grammy-winning artist Chris Tomlin.

Organizers aim to focus on three key themes: recognizing God’s influence in the nation’s history, celebrating its present, and looking to the future. They hope for a moment that unites all in gratitude for 250 years of freedom and a rededication to seek divine guidance for the next 250 years.

“On May 17, 2026, the National Mall will host a significant event as Americans from diverse backgrounds come together to prepare for the nation’s 250th anniversary. We celebrate with the Bible, testimonies, prayers, and a renewed commitment to God,” a representative of Freedom 250 stated.
