Amy Schumer Discusses Health Changes and Personal Life
Amy Schumer recently shared that she no longer experiences “as much sexual feelings” following what she described as a “botched colonoscopy.” During a recent event for her podcast “Not Thin But Not Fat,” she expressed that, despite this, she feels “happier than ever.”
The 44-year-old actress has undergone several significant changes in the past year, including a notable weight loss and her separation from husband Chris Fischer.
In December 2025, Schumer informed followers on Instagram that she lost 50 pounds in response to a diagnosis of Cushing’s Syndrome, a hormonal disorder she discovered in 2024. Prior to that, she mentioned using the weight-loss drug semaglutide after having a rough experience with Wigovy three years ago, which made her frequently ill.
In a video last March, Schumer expressed her frustration, saying, “I couldn’t stand it. I don’t know if they changed the formula or not. Regardless.”
While discussing her weight loss, she made it clear that it wasn’t linked to the end of her marriage to Fischer, whom she married nearly eight years ago. The couple, who share a 7-year-old son named Gene, announced their divorce in December 2025.
In a candid Instagram post, she wrote, “Blah, blah, blah, Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our seven-year marriage. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate your respecting our privacy at this time.”
Schumer officially filed for divorce from Fischer in January of this year. Despite their split, a source revealed that the two were still living together for the sake of their son. “She expects to co-parent the family full-time and see Gene as much, if not more, than she does now,” the source said. “They’re still pretty much under the same roof.”
The source also noted that Schumer hopes they can remain united in their approach to parenting.
