Dana White’s Experience at the White House Dinner
Dana White recently shared his thoughts about a dinner hosted by President Donald Trump in the newly reopened Rose Garden. However, the evening came with an unexpected annoyance—a swarm of gnats.
During this week, UFC executives highlighted the complexities of organizing outdoor events on the East Coast. As the UFC plans for its upcoming America 250 celebrations in June, these challenges become particularly significant.
White mentioned that the presence of the bugs was hard to ignore. He found himself pondering the potential impact of such distractions on the upcoming UFC event, which is expected to attract around 1,600 attendees. “Bugs are a constant worry, especially in this region,” he admitted.
Reflecting on the dinner, White stated, “President Trump had just reopened the Rose Garden two nights ago and invited me over. The amount of gnats flying around was overwhelming. I thought, ‘Oh my God.’ Once I boarded the plane back home, I contacted the production lead to discuss what happened with the gnats.” This experience quickly shifted his focus to how outdoor pest issues might affect production values for live broadcasts.
In previous statements about the America 250 event, White remarked, “If you’re a UFC fan and you’ve never been to Washington, D.C., we are giving away about 85,000 tickets; registration is required, and they’re free. It’s a fantastic opportunity to explore the city while participating in the event.” Many fans are encouraged to visit during the fight week to experience everything the city has to offer.
If the UFC ends up hosting a significant outdoor event in Washington, D.C., it seems that paying attention to pest control might become a part of their planning strategy.
