The California Post has shared a video that allegedly depicts the gunman involved in the recent San Diego mosque attack.
According to the footage reviewed by another source, the suspects, identified as 17-year-old Kane Clark and 18-year-old Caleb Velasquez, are shown gearing up to enter the Islamic Center of San Diego on a Monday. There’s some confusion regarding Velasquez’s last name, which has appeared as both “Velazquez” and “Vazquez” in reports, but the correct spelling remains unverified.
The two suspects seemed to be dressed in camouflage outfits and vests adorned with a symbol linked to Nazi Germany, referred to as the “black sun.” In addition, one weapon had a swastika visibly marked on it.
Once inside the mosque, the individuals reportedly discharged their firearms multiple times. Disturbingly, they seemed to hover over a body in a pool of blood after the shots were fired, leading to the tragic death of three people, as stated by the San Diego Police Chief Scott Wall.
After the attack, the gunmen got back into their vehicle and fled the scene, and one of their faces was captured on video as they escaped.
The footage reportedly shows Clark in the driver’s seat later on, holding a pistol, with blood visible around his mouth. This moment is speculated by the California Post to be when Clark shot his accomplice before turning the gun on himself.
The FBI has indicated that the attackers met online and left behind a “manifesto,” as reported by Komo News. A spokesperson noted that their hate was indiscriminate, targeting multiple races and religions.
A lengthy manifesto, circulating online and attributed to Clark under the name “Caleb,” is not confirmed as the same document referenced by the FBI. It asserts that various groups, including Jews, politicians, and immigrants, are to blame for the world’s issues.
There are particularly troubling claims in the manifesto, which describes Jews and women in degrading terms. It suggests that Muslims ought to be “isolated and exterminated,” portraying them as detrimental to society. Disturbingly, it also made calls for mass killings of different groups while employing racial slurs.
The manifesto features a question-and-answer section where someone expressed a desire to “burn down this earth and rebuild a new and better society,” indicating a clear hostility towards those they oppose.
The Daily Caller has attempted to contact the FBI for further details but has yet to receive a response.
