Georgia Secretary of State Primary Update
In Georgia’s Republican primary for secretary of state held on Tuesday, both Vernon Jones and Tim Fleming fell short of securing at least 50% of the vote, which means they’ll proceed to a runoff.

King is a general contractor and has run for the U.S. Senate in the past. He is married to Janelle King, who is involved in state elections and has a background as a conservative commentator.
Fleming, who once worked in the Secretary of State’s office under Governor Brian Kemp, promotes himself as a conservative focused on enhancing election procedures.
Additionally, Metz, a candidate from the Libertarian Party who ran for governor in 2022, is participating in the Republican primary.
Currently, Republican Brad Raffensperger, the sitting Secretary of State known for standing firm against attempts to change the 2020 election results, is campaigning for governor.
