Marjorie Taylor Greene reacts strongly after Thomas Mass's primary loss: 'The future of the Republican Party is ruined'

WASHINGTON — On Tuesday night, former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed her thoughts on the removal of her colleague, Representative Thomas Massie, following her recent defeat in the Republican primary.

Greene, a Republican from Georgia, had collaborated with Massie from Kentucky in a push to disclose files from the Justice Department regarding the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. She remarked that her loss to Trump-endorsed Ed Gullane signified a serious blow to the party.

“I feel honored and thankful to have worked alongside my friend Thomas Massie in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is truly a giant among those who are often overlooked. The release of the Epstein files marked the end for us,” she shared on X.

Greene also indicated, “You are dominated by the Epstein class, which shows no concern for your well-being. Your elected representatives are influenced by foreign interests.” She lamented, “Tonight, the future of the Republican Party was crushed.”

Despite her disappointment, Greene maintained a glimmer of hope, suggesting that a new Republican movement prioritizing an America First agenda would emerge, driven by a younger generation that is fiercely opposed to the established leaders. “Let’s just hope our country survives until they’re in charge,” she added.

Having resigned from Congress earlier this year, Greene was previously one of Trump’s staunchest allies and a vocal advocate among House Republicans. Yet her relationship with him began to sour following his decision to proceed with Operation Midnight Hammer against Iran last year.

Gradually, Greene grew more critical of not just Trump but also the Republican leadership, eventually focusing her efforts on advocating for the release of the Epstein files.

This shift in stance led Trump to encourage a primary challenge against her, which ultimately resulted in Greene stepping down from her position in the House.

Supporters of the former president argue that Greene’s antagonism stems not from principle but from his lack of support for her Senate campaign, a claim she has publicly rejected.

Massie, who has held his Congressional seat since 2012, has long been a contentious figure for Republicans, having ruffled Trump’s feathers by opposing coronavirus relief during the former president’s administration.

In recent months, Massie has diverged from party lines on several significant votes, including key legislation intended to avoid a government shutdown.

This defiance led influential figures within Trump’s 2024 campaign, such as senior adviser Chris LaCivita, to form the MAGA KY super PAC specifically aimed at unseating Massie.
