Brooke Hogan Remembers Her Father on Anniversary of His Death
This week, Brooke Hogan visited the beach to honor her father on the one-year anniversary of his passing. It’s hard to believe a whole year has gone by—time can be wild like that, right? It still feels sort of surreal. Really sad, actually.
Hulk Hogan passed away on July 24 at the age of 71 due to a heart attack in his Florida home. Throughout his life, he dealt with health issues, including leukemia and heart-related problems, but his death was officially ruled as natural causes.
At the time of his death, Brooke was estranged from her father. Reflecting on this, she mentioned to Fox News Digital last month that she feels a profound sense of regret for not being there, thinking she could have possibly done something to help.
Brooke’s Emotional Tribute
This week at the beach, Hogan shared a heartfelt post about her dad, expressing her connection to “the ocean that he cherished so much.” She wrote, “Every wave hit my heart like a memory, and it truly felt like yesterday. The waves echoed his voice, the saltwater embraced me, and the ocean carried the scent of our days together on the boat.”
She reminisced about how he used to carry her over the waves, likening it to a scene with King Triton and Ariel. “If I could breathe underwater to be near him, I would stay there forever. I couldn’t stop crying today,” she wrote. It’s clear this is an incredibly emotional time for her. I can’t say I’ve experienced the loss of a parent, but grief seems to weigh heavily on people in different ways. I imagine it’s exhausting to navigate that.
In the comments of her post, however, reactions were mixed. Some wondered about the bikini photo she included, questioning whether it was appropriate for such a tribute. One commenter even said, “Why show your butt in a post about your father?” It’s hard to say if that was a strange choice or not. Grieving is complex, and maybe it isn’t our place to judge how someone chooses to express it.
Honestly, I think Brooke should be free to express herself however she feels. It’s not my role to criticize her choices, especially during such a vulnerable time. Most of the nearly 1,000 comments on her post were positive, reflecting the huge fan base her father had. Hulk Hogan wasn’t just popular; he was a massive icon. His passing last summer was truly a shock, and it stayed in people’s minds for weeks.
At the end of the day, I hope Brooke finds some peace as she remembers her father. A moment spent reflecting on the sand can be a step toward healing.
