Jelly Roll and NHL Collaborate on New Playoff Anthem
Jelly Roll has joined forces with the NHL to create “Rise Up,” a powerful anthem intended to capture the excitement surrounding the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
This track will be featured in game broadcasts and shared on NHL’s digital platforms, but you can only stream it on Amazon Music. The accompanying video showcases the thrill of the playoffs, blending game highlights with close-ups of Jelly Roll. The repeated lyric “one shot” resonates through the chorus, coinciding with shots of a clock ticking down the final seconds of a game.
Jelly Roll pointed out that the song is meant for “the guys grinding every night for the Cup,” adding that, “This isn’t just the theme song of the NHL Playoffs. This is their song.”
He described the track as “crawling over your skin,” emphasizing its gritty, swampy rock and roll vibe.
Steve Mayer, the president of NHL Content and Events, noted that Jelly Roll’s music creates the right atmosphere for the playoffs, adding, “Watching him experience the Stanley Cup for the first time was a special moment.” It seems there’s a real connection there.
Tom Winkler from Amazon Music spoke about the broader significance of the NHL in society, mentioning that their partnership aims to elevate the Stanley Cup Playoffs as a major cultural event.
Winkler asserted, “We are amplifying the postseason experience by pairing the electric energy of playoff hockey with original music from marquee artists like Jelly Roll, giving fans a whole new way to feel the game on and off the ice.”
Additionally, a short documentary featuring Jelly Roll alongside NHL stars Jack Eichel from the Vegas Golden Knights and Seth Jarvis of the Carolina Hurricanes will explore the making of the video. This documentary is set to be released in June.
As the 2026 NHL playoff series narrows down, the final four teams are set: the Carolina Hurricanes and Montreal Canadiens will clash in the Eastern Conference, while the Colorado Avalanche will take on the Vegas Golden Knights in the Western Conference.
