New York City Residents Reflect on 9/11

New York City, historically the scene of one of the most lethal attacks on U.S. soil carried out by Islamic terrorists, seems to have moved on. Or at least, that’s the impression some people are sharing.

“If you were curious about whether New York City remembers 9/11, it seems they’ve pretty much forgotten,” said a Blaze TV host. “It’s becoming clear that the Islamic threat has been largely overlooked. It’s almost as if this was anticipated, and now it’s happening right before our eyes. Well, I suppose that’s bound to occur when your mayor leans a certain way.”

The host went on to showcase a clip of Muslim individuals praying outside a Jewish girls’ school in the city.

“They appear to be taunting the Jews nearby,” she remarked.

In another video, a sizable group gathered outside a synagogue, waving Palestinian flags while chanting “Allah Akbar.”

“This gives me pause. If I were the mayor, I would definitely have concerns. But it seems that Mayor Zoran Mamdani—who identifies in a particular way—might prioritize a different narrative, suggesting that Muslims are the ones facing discrimination in the city,” said the host.

Mamdani addressed an incident where worshippers reportedly faced an attack during Friday prayers at a Brooklyn mosque, stating in a post, “An egg was thrown at a man praying, and such acts are unacceptable.”

“This incident is deeply disturbing, and we’re committed to combating anti-Muslim hate,” he added, mentioning that the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is involved in the case.

However, the host noted a lack of coverage on this particular incident. “I didn’t come across any reports aside from the mayor’s post. No footage, no suspect descriptions, and no comments from the mosque—doesn’t that seem odd?” she pondered. “It’s almost like the mosque missed a chance to be seen as a victim here.”
