Matt Best’s Musical Tribute to Fallen Soldiers
Matt Best, co-founder of Black Rifle Coffee, is branching out from his successful coffee business to share his musical talents. He recently released a new country song as a tribute to soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
The song, titled “Folded Flag,” premiered on Friday. It aims to honor fallen heroes, coinciding with the Maj. Brent Taylor Foundation in time for Memorial Day weekend.
The song’s description highlights its dedication to those who have served, stating, “‘Folded Flag’ is a tribute to the men and women who gave everything for this country and the families who continue to carry on their memories.” It reflects how the legacy of these individuals is intertwined with the nation itself.
The Maj. Brent Taylor Foundation was founded on what would have been Taylor’s 40th birthday. The organization focuses on honoring his dedication to service and leadership. Taylor lost his life while serving in Afghanistan in November 2018 with the Utah Army National Guard. He had enlisted at 17 and completed five deployments, later working as a CIA contractor, which he credits for his success outside the military.
In past interviews, Best has discussed his commitment to supporting the military community. His company has partnered with country artist Riley Greene in a significant initiative aimed at reducing medical debt for thousands of veterans.
Best stated, “Serving my country and serving this great nation is literally the core of my being.” He emphasizes the values shared by himself and others connected to Black Rifle Coffee, reinforcing their mission to support those who have served.
With a thriving YouTube channel boasting over 1.5 million subscribers, Best shares a variety of content including music and videos focusing on military themes. Meanwhile, Black Rifle Coffee Company reported revenues of $400 million in 2025.
Beyond his business ventures, Best remains active in hosting events like the Rock ‘n’ Jock celebrity softball game to raise funds for military families, showcasing a continuous commitment to those who serve.
