Thames Valley Police Investigating Allegations of Misconduct Related to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor

Thames Valley Police (TVP) is currently looking into various claims of misconduct involving Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was previously known as Prince Andrew.

According to police officials, they are collaborating closely with Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and also working with the U.S. Department of Justice to gather additional relevant information. While the police have not named Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor directly—consistent with British standards—details from his February arrest may have revealed his identity, as reported by NBC News. This investigation was prompted after the signing of the Epstein File Transparency Act in the United States, which pushed TVP to examine allegations of wrongdoing.

On February 19, 2026, a man in his sixties from Norfolk was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office. He was questioned and released the same day, with searches conducted at two addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. These details align with earlier reports of Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest and residence.

TVP is specifically investigating claims that a woman was taken to a location in Windsor for sexual purposes in 2010, and the alleged victim’s legal representative has been interviewed by the police.

The police have emphasized that they sought “early investigative advice” as is standard with serious and sensitive cases.

They are currently speaking to several witnesses but, as per national guidelines, cannot confirm or deny their identities. TVP Deputy Chief Constable Oliver Wright has called the investigation “complex.” He mentioned that the team is reviewing a significant amount of information from the public and other sources.

Wright assured that they are committed to a thorough investigation, stating, “wherever all reasonable investigative paths lead.” He acknowledged the public’s interest in the matter but requested patience as the investigation progresses, promising updates as deemed appropriate.

Additionally, TVP is coordinating with the National Police Chiefs’ Council and other law enforcement agencies to support outreach to victims and survivors connected to the Epstein case.
