Democratic Party Supports Hasan Piker
The Democratic Party is coming together to support Hasan Piker as a new voice in their political landscape. Senate candidate Adam Schwarze is making his case for Piker in Minnesota as he gears up for the 2026 Election.
In a recent incident, Piker, known for his far-left views on Twitch, reacted rather sarcastically to a shooting at the White House security checkpoint. He shared a viral video featuring ABC News correspondent Selina Wang, who was seen taking cover after gunfire erupted.
Piker also posted a comment ridiculing the construction of the White House ballroom, which has been a focal point for security discussions since Donald Trump took office, especially after the recent attempts on his life.
“Sources say the banquet hall is safe! Please,” he tweeted.
The shooting incident started just after 6 p.m. near 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, according to reports from the Secret Service. The suspected shooter, identified as Nasire Best, was said to have fired several rounds before being shot by responding Secret Service agents. Best was 21 and had a documented history of encounters with law enforcement and mental health issues.
A passerby was reportedly injured but details about who was responsible for that shot remain unclear. Fortunately, no Secret Service agents were harmed in the incident.
During the shooting, President Trump was in the White House discussing peace talks with Iran and was promptly briefed about the situation.
Following the event, Trump expressed gratitude towards the Secret Service and mentioned the banquet hall’s safety in a post on social media. He emphasized the need for future presidents to have the safest spaces possible, especially given recent events.
Piker has also voiced his opinion on mass shootings, arguing that community gathering spaces might prevent such tragedies. “If they knew there were social gathering spaces, they would basically stop all would-be shooters,” he stated in a TikTok video.
Meanwhile, he remains a divisive figure within the Democratic Party. His critiques of the Trump administration continue to reshape discussions around issues like security and public safety, particularly in light of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting, which he suggested was being exploited to push for further security measures, specifically the new ballroom proposal.
The renovation plan for the ballroom includes a massive 22,000 square foot space designed to accommodate around 1,000 seated guests. This has raised eyebrows about how it will balance security with functionality.
In a broader context, Piker has recently been subpoenaed alongside Susan Medea Benjamin, co-founder of Code Pink, as part of an investigation into potential violations of U.S. laws related to aid to Cuba. This inquiry focuses on whether activists who visited Cuba may have breached sanctions by providing support to the communist regime.
The White House has yet to provide a response regarding this ongoing investigation.
