Knicks fans upset with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce for not supporting the team before NYC wedding

Taylor Swift Faces Backlash from Knicks Fans

Taylor Swift, a prominent figure in Manhattan, was recently spotted supporting the Cleveland Cavaliers alongside her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, which has led to quite a stir among loyal New York Knicks fans.

Fans are calling her out as a “traitor” for not sticking with her home team.

“She’s a traitor,” remarked Knicks supporter Alex Genis, expressing frustration outside Madison Square Garden. “I can’t just root for the Cavs because my fiancé does. It doesn’t work like that.”

“It’s disappointing,” added Cecilia Williams, another Knicks fan. “If my fiancée were on the opposing team, I’d still wear my Knicks jersey proudly.”

“She’s a fake fan,” echoed Sono Shin. “Just a bandwagon jumper,” he said dismissively.

Despite the criticism, Swift, who has long been a supporter of the Knicks, faced backlash after she cheered for the Cavaliers during a playoff game. Fans noted that while she didn’t don Cavaliers gear, they were quick to point out Kelce’s enthusiastic support for the opposing team, as he chugged beer and rallied the crowd.

The couple plans to get married in New York later this year, but some Knicks fans seem less than enthusiastic about celebrating their union in the city following this incident.

Fan Jordan Phillips quipped, “Maybe the wedding should take place in Ohio. This just gives me another reason not to like her. Changing allegiances from Knicks to Cavs for your boyfriend? That’s not true fandom.”

Max Modica chimed in, saying he wouldn’t attend their wedding regardless of the location.

However, not everyone is completely shutting Swift out. Some fans are willing to give her another chance. “She deserves another shot,” said Ryan Vargas before a recent game. “If I run into her at the game tonight… maybe she should just apologize through a song,” suggested Khoa Nguyen.

Marcellus Brown even tried to put a positive spin on things, speculating that Swift might still be rooting for the Knicks at heart.
