Neighbors in California Remember Veteran 'Trump House' Owner Who Passed Away Following Violent Attack: 'He Was a Patriot'

Tragic Assault Claims Life of Veteran Trump Supporter in California

A U.S. Army veteran known for her President Trump-themed home in Escondido, California, passed away Sunday after suffering a brutal assault last Wednesday.

Kelly Sheron, 69, was recognized in her community for her house adorned with American flags and various pro-Trump displays.

The individual responsible for leaving Sheron in critical condition has been identified as Thomas Caleb Butler, a 32-year-old Navy veteran. A family friend revealed that Butler has been struggling with severe PTSD, which he reportedly channels through various outlets.

Interestingly, a friend mentioned that Butler had previously expressed admiration for the home a few blocks away and identified himself as a Republican who supports Trump. The attack has left friends of Butler bewildered, uncertain of the motives behind the alleged assault on Sheron.

The disturbing incident occurred outside Sheron’s residence, which authorities believe was an unprovoked attack. Witnesses reported that Sheron was working in her front yard when Butler approached and struck her. Details remain murky—whether Sheron and Butler had any prior acquaintance is still unknown.

Deputy District Attorney Ross Garcia characterized the assault as a single punch to the jaw, followed by additional strikes to the victim’s head as she fell.

Security footage captured the moments surrounding the incident, showing the suspect interacting with a witness dressed in yellow.

Butler has entered a plea of not guilty to several charges, including attempted murder and elder abuse, and he is currently being held without bail. Following Sheron’s death, prosecutors are contemplating additional charges related to murder.

Sheron’s spouse, Maria, expressed her devastation, stating, “I don’t think I can say anything. My heart hurts so much. That’s it.”

A friend of Sheron remarked, “Mr. Kelly was a Trump supporter, but more importantly, he was a patriot who deeply valued free speech. He was indifferent to mockery, insisting that everyone had the same right to their opinions.”

In the wake of Sheron’s death, neighbors have come together to honor her memory, laying flowers and holding signs of support outside her home. Local reports noted that the couple had faced previous harassment and threats linked to the displays in their yard, but this incident marked a tragic escalation.
