Josh Jacobs Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges
Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested in Wisconsin for domestic violence and other offenses, as confirmed by a statement from the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department.
Police responded to a “disturbance complaint” involving Jacobs last Saturday morning, May 23.
Jacobs voluntarily turned himself in, and, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, he was booked into Brown County Jail facing five counts: assault/domestic abuse, property damage/domestic abuse, disorderly conduct/domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and victim intimidation.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” the police release indicated, adding that no additional details would be provided at this time.
The Packers acknowledged the situation, stating, “We are aware of the issue involving Josh Jacobs. Due to the ongoing legal matters, we will not be commenting further.”
Jacobs’ attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schoenfeld, made it clear that the running back denies all allegations. They pointed out that “important evidence has not yet been released” and asked for fairness as the case develops.
The NFL also released a statement, noting it was “aware of the report and has been in contact with the club.”
At 28 years old, Jacobs is currently in his eighth season in the NFL. He was drafted 24th overall by the Raiders in 2019 and played with them for five seasons before signing a four-year, $48 million deal with Green Bay prior to the 2024 season.
A three-time Pro Bowler, Jacobs had an impressive last season, amassing 929 rushing yards and 14 total touchdowns across 15 games.
As per league protocol, he is subject to personal conduct policy and may face disciplinary consequences.
