Young people hosting parties to celebrate breast surgeries and nose jobs: 'New nose, who’s this?'

Celebrating Cosmetic Surgery with Themed Parties

After getting breast implants last year, Savannah Pierre’s friends were constantly asking if she was satisfied with her decision. So, she thought, why not host a revealing party for everyone at once?

Pierre, 28, gathered 20 close friends for a themed event she dubbed the unveiling of her new assets.

“I figured having a party would be a fun way to show everyone,” she explained.

In September, her friends arrived at her home in Fort Myers, Florida. There, she stepped out from behind her robe and showcased her results.

“I love hosting and being a party girl,” said Pierre, who works in social media management.

“I’m all about having fun—it was just satirical and a great time,” she added.

Her surgeon also attended the event, allowing everyone to meet the “artist behind the art.” The atmosphere was celebratory—no controversy in sight.

“Life in Florida tends to make people open about their appearance,” she noted. “I hadn’t really considered sharing my experience publicly before.”

Pierre was inspired by TikTok, where young people are increasingly holding parties to celebrate various cosmetic procedures, signaling a shift in attitudes toward plastic surgery especially among Gen Z.

In Hoboken, Sofiya Tasevska hosted a rhinoplasty party for her twin sister and best friend, who had recently traveled to Turkey for the surgery.

“They simply asked for a cake, and I went all out with the party,” she remembered. “We like to embrace our quirks and share laughs.”

With bandages still in place, the duo was taken aback to find a gathering of friends around a cake that read “Goodbye Nose,” topped with balloons.

Tasevska, who works in beauty, also created chocolate molds in the shape of noses for the celebration.

“Everyone was enjoying themselves, and we didn’t feel awkward about it at all,” she said, completely skipping any traditional children’s game adaptations.

“There’s certainly more openness about plastic surgery these days. People are getting comfortable discussing it, shedding any previous stigma,” she reflected. “It’s becoming recognized as a part of life.”

In Los Angeles, Matthew Alhafez, 27, had long desired a nose job, seeing it as a “status symbol” during his upbringing in Syria. After getting surgery two years ago, he threw a reveal party as a light-hearted celebration.

“It kicked off as a joke. Why not celebrate any achievement?” he remarked, emphasizing the irony of the occasion. His friend even brought a cake adorned with “Natural Beauty,” echoing the phrase on his shirt.

Looking back, Alhafez thinks this reflects Gen Z’s evolving mindset.

“There was once a stigma surrounding cosmetic surgery,” he said. “This gathering showed a significant change in attitude, where shame is not a factor anymore. Gen Z is able to laugh about things that might have been seen as embarrassing before.”
