Cincinnati’s Unique Fast Food Delicacy
Cincinnati is known for its beloved fast food chain, Skyline Chili, a local favorite that’s hard to find elsewhere.
As the Cincinnati Reds visit Citi Field for a three-game series, the Mets are joining in the festivities by offering special Skyline Chili Eggrolls.
The Reds’ broadcast team decided to compare this new dish with the classic Skyline, and Jim Day took on the challenge. Unfortunately, the results weren’t promising.
Day openly shared his disappointment, stating, “This is the lowest point of my career and I’ve had a few lows.” He cut his remarks short, leaving play-by-play announcer John Sadak to elaborate. Sadak quipped, “His review was, ‘Hmm, hmm. I want to apologize to my mom. I’ll try again.'” Afterward, Day still referred to it as a career low.
Meanwhile, on the field, the night was somewhat better for the Reds, despite losing 4-2 to the Mets. Outfielders Juan Soto and Carson Benge were key contributors, scoring three of the team’s four runs. Soto began the scoring with a solo home run in the first inning.
Benge added a two-RBI single, but in a tense ninth inning, Cincinnati had a chance to stage a comeback with one out and the bases loaded. Mets closer Devin Williams struggled initially, walking three out of four batters, but managed to hold his composure and struck out the final two batters, sealing the win for New York.
The Mets are looking to carry this momentum into their next home series against the Marlins, a team that recently defeated them in Miami, which should certainly keep things interesting.
