Dennis Quaid Backs Spencer Pratt in LA Mayoral Race
Actor Dennis Quaid has added his voice to the list of celebrities supporting Spencer Pratt in the ongoing Los Angeles mayoral race.
Quaid, who witnessed the Palisades Fire first-hand, expressed his endorsement of Pratt during a May 23 interview with Fox News. With a confident smile, he simply said, “Mayor race? Spencer Pratt. Go Spencer Pratt!”
The actor has been quite vocal in his criticism of Mayor Karen Bass, particularly regarding the city’s handling of the recent devastating fire. He didn’t hold back when he pointed out Bass’s decision to travel to Ghana while the crisis unfolded.
While attending the 2nd Annual Military & Veteran Entertainment Awards Gala, Quaid was asked why he supported Pratt. He seemed taken aback, stating, “Why? What are you talking about? Why?” Then, with a chuckle, he clarified, “Just look around, man. Why?”
Quaid isn’t the only celebrity rallying behind Pratt; he’s joined by a notable list that includes Paris Hilton, Joe Rogan, James Woods, Jamie Kennedy, among others. Even Adam Corolla and several of Pratt’s former co-stars from “The Hills,” like Kristin Cavallari and Brody Jenner, have shown their support.
In terms of campaign finances, Jeanie Buss, owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, has contributed the maximum allowable amount to Pratt’s campaign.
Recent reports indicate that the mayoral race is quite competitive, with Pratt currently garnering 22% support from likely voters, just trailing Bass at 26% and Nithya Raman at 25%.
