See Adam Carolla Receive Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

In a notable moment of camaraderie, friends from differing political backgrounds united on Wednesday as right-wing comedian Adam Carolla received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel paying tribute.

Carolla’s star is in the radio category.

“It’s a bit ironic that I’m joining the radio Walk of Fame. Here we are in 2026. It’s like being honored in the Typewriter Repair Hall of Fame,” Carolla humorously remarked.

Carolla started her career at KROQ in Los Angeles back in 1994, where she met Jimmy Kimmel, who later became her co-host on Comedy Central’s The Man Show.

“Kimmel reminisced about first meeting Carolla in 1994 while he was working on Kevin and Bean, a local radio show. Carolla, who was a boxing instructor at the time, called KROQ to help Kimmel prepare for a boxing match,” a report mentioned.

Kimmel shared a memory of Carolla’s first appearance on Kevin & Bean, recalling how Carolla jokingly said, “‘Jimmy’s 160 pounds of pure chiseled steel. Unfortunately, he weighs 225 pounds.’”

“We didn’t really train for that match. We boxed for about eight minutes, then just grabbed some Snapple and went out to lunch,” Kimmel said. “I might have lost that fight, but at least I found a lifelong friend. It might sound a bit cheesy, but it’s true.”

Kimmel praised Carolla, calling him “one of the funniest individuals” and affectionately referring to him as “Laverne to Shirley.”

When it came to politics, Kimmel acknowledged their longstanding friendship despite their glaring differences regarding Trump and various divisive topics.

“As you might expect, Adam and I don’t exactly align on political matters, but I genuinely care for him,” Kimmel noted. “He’s simply hilarious, and I’m incredibly proud of him… This guy worked his way from nothing to becoming a millionaire. Trust me, you’ll hear him mention it on every show.”

“Adam’s a real original. Growing up poor in the San Fernando Valley and even getting turned down by Taco Bell management, he’s now going to be forever remembered at this chaotic intersection,” he added.

Online, many users celebrated the event as a shining example of unity between political adversaries in a polarized America.

Kimmel and Carolla launched their comedy series The Man Show under Jackhole Productions in 1999 before moving on to create Crank Yankers.

Notably, KROQ alumnus Dr. Drew Pinsky was also present at the ceremony.
