Bruce Springsteen Criticizes Trump Again, Calling Him 'Racist' and 'Treasonous;' Vows to Cause More Stir Before Election

Springsteen Critiques Trump During D.C. Concert, Plans More Political Engagement

Bruce Springsteen, the iconic rocker from the 1980s, took a moment during his recent concert in Washington, D.C. to mock Donald Trump and his supporters, indicating that he intends to ramp up his political commentary as the 2026 election nears.

Springsteen has been vocal about political issues during his current Land of Hopes and Dreams American tour, and his performance in the capital was no different. During a show at Nationals Park, he addressed the crowd, expressing empathy for those feeling disillusioned. “If you’re feeling helpless, if you’re feeling hopeless, if you’re feeling betrayed, if you’re frustrated, if you’re angry, I understand. That’s why we’re here tonight,” he shared. “We needed to come to Washington and feel your strength, your hope, your faith…We needed to bring your strength, hope, and faith to your city,” he added.

Originally, the D.C. stop was meant to be the last on his politically themed tour, but after some previous cancellations, he added a show in Philadelphia, with the tour concluding on Saturday.

Springsteen led chants of “ICE OUT!” during the concert and encouraged attendees to make sure the White House heard their voices. He also hinted at more political fervor, mentioning a festival he’s set to attend in October, just prior to the 2026 elections.

However, the 76-year-old musician has faced criticism for his left-leaning views. Recently, he was labeled a “billionaire hypocrite” for positioning himself as a man of the people while being worth $1.2 billion and owning multiple properties. His local newspaper also criticized his political sentiments, calling them “utterly hypocritical rubbish” and accused him of profiting from genuine protests.

Furthermore, his former bandmate, drummer Vini “Mad Dog” Lopez, called out Springsteen for what he viewed as a lack of respect for the presidency, implying that he should acknowledge Trump as the president regardless of personal opinions.
