Trump Criticizes Jill Biden Over Debate Comments
Recently, President Donald Trump took aim at former First Lady Jill Biden after she revealed her concerns about her husband, former President Joe Biden, during a 2024 presidential debate. She mentioned she thought he might have been having a stroke during that event.
“Jill Biden is now out there finally admitting that she did NOT know what went wrong with Sleepy Joe during our spectacular, and highly rated, 2024 Presidential Debate, where Joe was not exactly performing to the highest level of debate standards,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
He added, “She said that she thought he was having a ‘stroke,’ and various other really bad things, and yet never rushed onto the stage to help her troubled husband, as any good wife would do. The only thing she failed to mention was how well I was doing prior to his near total collapse.”
Trump also posed a rhetorical question, wondering if his strong performance in the debate contributed to Biden’s struggles, saying, “In other words, as many have asked, did my strong performance in that debate cause him to plain and simple ‘choke,’ leading to his ignominious defeat, or were other reasons the cause?” He concluded, “Nobody else knows the answer to that, BUT I DO!!!”
In an interview with CBS News, Jill Biden shared that rather than being horrified, she was frightened as she watched her husband during the debate. “I was frightened, because I had never ever seen Joe like that before or since, never,” she expressed. “I mean, as I watched it, I thought, ‘Oh my god, he’s having a stroke.’”
During the debate itself, Biden had stumbled over his response about his administration’s handling of border crossings, leading to some awkward moments. At one point, Trump famously remarked, “I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence. I don’t think he knows what he said, either.”
This debate marked a pivotal moment, drawing significant attention to Biden’s age and health, prompting wider concerns, and ultimately leading to him exiting the election. Trump continues to assert that his performance in the debate was a significant victory and claims it showcased Biden’s mental and physical decline.
He also accused the Biden administration of attempting to hide his condition during his presidency, which fueled investigations into these allegations.
