Kyrie Irving shares his thoughts on the Knicks making it to the NBA Finals.

Kyrie Irving is quite eager about the upcoming NBA Finals.

Diving into a Twitch stream on Friday, the former Nets player expressed his excitement over the Knicks making it to the league’s grand finale, also acknowledging the passionate Knicks fans.

“It would be wild for the Knicks to reach the Finals… I think many fans in New York are feeling the same way,” he noted.

“It’s definitely going to be one of those memorable days. If you’re on the East Coast, brace yourself. They have absolutely earned their place in the Finals and prepared thoroughly throughout the regular season.”

Irving, 34, who had a stint with the Nets from 2019 to 2023 before his trade to the Mavericks, also praised Jalen Brunson, calling him an exceptional point guard with fantastic support around him. This marks the Knicks’ first trip to the Finals since 1999.

Irving, who sat out the entire previous season due to an ACL tear in March 2025, offered an optimistic update regarding his recovery.

“I’m definitely nearing 100 percent in terms of my ACL recovery,” he shared during his stream.

“It’s been a long journey… I’m really thankful for the time I had to heal and explore my body more, both on the court and in the gym, pushing myself to the max.”

If Irving returns to play, he will join forces with current Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg, along with seasoned players like Klay Thompson and Khris Middleton.

In the meantime, the Knicks await information on their opponent for the Finals after a commanding series against the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Thunder and Spurs are set to face off in Game 7 of the Western Conference this Saturday to decide who advances to the NBA Finals.
