A mother was tragically killed by her daughter in a suicide incident in Park Slope, with neighbors revealing that she carried a knife out of fear for her daughter’s mental state.
DeSean Jackson shared that his mother, a 59-year-old vegan chef named Olga Bracero, was deeply concerned about her 23-year-old daughter Kayla Wilson, believing she was struggling with severe mental health issues related to drug use. Olga was reportedly in a state of desperation, trying to assist her daughter.
According to Jackson, things changed drastically after a trip to Jamaica. He recalled his mother saying that Wilson had smoked some bad marijuana and wasn’t the same afterward. “She told me that Kayla was ‘fighting demons’ and asked for help,” he recounted.
Wilson also expressed her struggles, claiming that voices were urging her to harm others, a statement that indicates her serious state of mind.
Jackson mentioned that his sister often carried a knife with her, which added to the family’s worries.
On Saturday evening, police received a call about an unresponsive woman at their home and arrived to find both women deceased, victims of numerous stab wounds.
Authorities suspect that Wilson killed her mother before turning the knife on herself. Jackson expressed his shock, stating, “I never imagined something like this would happen. I broke down in tears. It hit hard.”
This incident is particularly heartbreaking as it marks the second murder-suicide to occur in the same building since January 2024, when another couple faced a similar tragic fate.
