Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein Shift from Romance to Friendship
Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein have transitioned from a romantic connection to being just friends.
An insider shared with Page Six that while filming the Netflix movie Office Romance, Lopez and Goldstein maintained a professional demeanor, yet their chemistry was evident.
“Throughout filming, they worked to keep things under wraps, but the flirting was hard to miss. They definitely had a bond,” the source revealed. “At the wrap party, it was clear they were really into each other.”
Lopez, 56, and Goldstein, 45, reportedly enjoyed a night out at a Broadway play titled Oh Mary! in New York City in early 2025.
“Once filming wrapped, they dated for a little while,” the source said, “but the relationship seemed to cool off once the project was completed.”
While Lopez appreciated the time they spent together, the source explained, “Things have been a bit off between them since last year.”
What’s important to note is that there’s no bad blood. The source emphasized, “They are on friendly terms; it’s just that their romantic spark has faded.”
According to the insider, both stars were indeed attracted to one another during their brief romance, but ultimately, they felt it was better to stay friends.
Representatives for both Lopez and Goldstein did not respond to requests for comment.
The Netflix comedy was first announced in September 2024, with Goldstein as Lopez’s co-star. Fans were quick to recall Goldstein’s long-time admiration for Lopez, often voiced on his podcast Films to Buried With.
In a past podcast episode, he commented on Lopez’s age during a discussion about her role in Hustlers, saying, “Damn, hell. 50!” expressing his affection for her.
Goldstein even joked about feeling envious during a scene where Lopez hugged a female co-star, saying he wished he could get a “special hug” from her.
Recently, Lopez addressed the dating rumors during a live appearance on the Today Show when host Savannah Guthrie asked about the speculation surrounding their chemistry.
“I’ve never worked with someone who didn’t want me to be with them,” the singer remarked, but Guthrie wasn’t convinced and pressed for clarity.
Lopez affirmed, “We’re not dating,” to which Goldstein added, “That’s right.”
