Twins and New Identities

Emme Muniz, one of Lopez’s twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony, recently graduated from Windward School in Los Angeles. Interestingly, Emme has adopted a new name, Oscar, to reflect her gender identity. The surname Muniz comes from Anthony’s real name, Marco Antonio Muniz. Lopez and Anthony were married from 2004 until 2014.

Being in the public eye isn’t new for Emme, who made a splash on stage at just 11 years old during the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show. Since then, she has graced various stages, attending both screenings and red carpet events.

A Symbol of Pride

A post from Windward’s Instagram account, which has since been deleted, congratulated Oscar Muniz on being accepted to Sarah Lawrence College, a liberal arts college in New York.

This post garnered likes from various celebrities, including Jennifer Garner, who was once married to Ben Affleck, Lopez’s husband for three years.

The post included tags related to Oscar, marked with “he” as the chosen pronoun, along with symbols for gay and trans identities.

Family Dynamics

Interestingly, Marc Anthony could not attend his daughter’s graduation, but other family members were there to show their support. One of them was 14-year-old Samuel Affleck, the son of Anthony’s ex-wife.

Although Samuel identifies with his assigned gender, his older sister Seraphina has recently come out as transgender.

Anthony, who hails from New York City and has Puerto Rican roots, boasts multi-platinum albums in both English and Spanish. At 57, he has seven children.

Lopez, 56, previously expressed her desire for her children to be “happy, go where they want to go, and do what they want to do.”
