Going Bold: Charlize Theron and Celebrity Kids

Jennifer Lopez has recently added her voice to a prominent trend: supporting “trans” kids in the celebrity world.

Celebrating Emme

Emme Muniz, one of Lopez’s twins with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, just graduated from Windward School in Los Angeles. The graduate debuted a new name, Oscar, aligning more closely with her gender identity.

Muniz derives from Anthony’s birth name, Marco Antonio Muniz. Lopez and Anthony’s marriage lasted from 2004 to 2014. Interestingly, Emme, who goes by Oscar now, has already had her moments in the limelight. At just 11 years old, she was brought on stage during the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show. Since then, she’s appeared at various events and red carpets, showing that fame runs in the family.

A Proud Moment

Following her graduation, Windward’s Instagram posted a congratulatory message for Oscar Muniz’s acceptance into Sarah Lawrence College, a private liberal arts institution in New York. This post even attracted a like from actress Jennifer Garner, who has her own connection to Lopez’s past. Garner was married to Ben Affleck, who was with Lopez for three years.

This post highlighted Oscar’s preference for the pronoun “he,” and included symbols representing the LGBTQ+ community.

Family Matters

Interestingly, Marc Anthony didn’t attend his daughter’s celebration. Instead, other family members, including Samuel Affleck, Lopez’s stepson, were present. Although Samuel identifies with his biological sex, his sister Seraphina has recently come out as trans.

Marc Anthony, 57, is originally from New York City, and he has seven children to his name. As for Lopez, now 56, she has shared her hopes for her children: to be “happy, go where they want, and do what they want to do.”
