Jalen Brunson’s Unique Concert Choice

Jalen Brunson is not one to shy away from big events, especially after leading the Knicks to a Game 1 win against the Spurs in the NBA Finals. During a press conference on Thursday, a reporter posed an interesting question: if he could spend as much on a show as the hefty ticket prices for the Finals at Madison Square Garden, what would it be?

As of Thursday afternoon, the cost for a seat at Monday’s Game 3 in New York hit a staggering $7,520, according to TickPick.

Brunson paused for about 15 seconds before responding, “That’s a good question.” Finally, he chose a rather ambitious option: “It’s a live Michael Jackson performance.”

Of course, a posthumous show would definitely be an expensive thriller, although it’s worth noting that tickets for Jackson’s concerts back in the 1990s only cost about $20 to $30.

The excitement surrounding the Knicks’ first Finals appearance in nearly three decades has certainly driven prices up. After their victory over the Cavaliers, two courtside tickets were auctioned for close to $280,000.

For Games 3 and 4, ticket prices soared to $3,745 and $3,464, respectively, marking them as the “most expensive NBA tickets in history.”

Additionally, the Knicks are holding an auction for two more courtside seats for Game 3, with the proceeds benefiting the Garden of Dreams Foundation.

In Thursday’s game, Brunson not only faced an injury scare and some tough moments with referee Scott Foster but also scored a game-high 30 points, leading the Knicks to a 105-95 victory after overcoming a 14-point halftime deficit.

The series continues Friday night at the Frostbank Center, where the Knicks aim to secure a 2-0 lead against the Spurs.
