Tate McRae, the Canadian singer and dancer, seems to be riding the high of the Knicks’ impressive win. It’s been quite a while since they’ve made it to the NBA Finals—1999, to be exact.
After the Knicks triumphed over their opponent with a score of 105-95 in Game 1, McRae took to Instagram to share her excitement. She posted a photo where she appeared to be in a car, sporting a Knicks shirt and the enthusiastic caption, “Let’s go Knicks.”
She even added a mirror selfie showcasing her complete outfit. The 22-year-old opted for a blue Knicks T-shirt paired with black jeans, stylish open-toe shoes, and a small black bag.
Fans might have noted her connection to her boyfriend, Jack Hughes, who plays for the Devils. Spending time across the Hudson in New Jersey may have upped her game-day spirit.
This year has already had its share of headlines for the couple. Hughes rose to fame during the Winter Olympics, scoring the game-winning goal for the U.S. men’s hockey team against Canada, marking a significant win as the U.S. hadn’t secured an Olympic gold in this sport since 1980.
Following that victory, Hughes celebrated with teammates in Miami before making headlines at President Trump’s State of the Union address.
McRae, originally from Calgary, encountered some pushback for her visibility during the Olympics, especially after appearing in an NBC ad featuring American athletes. She later addressed her stance on social media, indicating that “Canada is depressed.”
In the following month, March, US Weekly reported that they were officially dating, after months of speculation about their relationship.
Rumors about their romance began circulating late in 2025. They were seen enjoying dinner together in November, and McRae was noticed walking around New York shortly after attending a Devils game.
A source shared with US Weekly, “[Tate] thinks [Jack] is a really cool person and they have a lot of fun together. She’s very supportive of his career and loves cheering for him at his games.”
