Trump Comments on Hunter Biden’s Presidential Bid

On Thursday, former President Donald Trump expressed that Hunter Biden, despite his controversial past, might have a shot at the presidency in 2028. His remarks came during a conversation with reporters in the Oval Office, notably in response to a question from Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy about Hunter’s potential candidacy.

The younger Biden recently took notice of a parody account on X that was promoting him as a Democratic candidate for the upcoming presidential election.

Trump remarked, “You’d think a person’s history would play a role in elections, and let’s be honest, his past isn’t exactly stellar.”

Maine Senate Candidate’s Controversies

He then made a connection between Hunter Biden and a Democratic candidate from Maine, Graham Platner, suggesting that if Platner succeeds, Hunter could follow in his footsteps. “The guy from Maine? He’s a basket case,” Trump commented. He didn’t hold back, adding his opinion on the Texas candidate James Talarico, who he compared to Alfred E. Neuman.

Platner, a Marine Corps veteran, has been under fire for various issues, including inappropriate messages, contentious social media posts, and even details about Nazi-related tattoos that have surfaced, alongside a scandal involving his campaign staff.

Despite these scandals, Platner seems to have gained the support of some significant Democrats such as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

Talarico, on the other hand, has faced backlash from conservative opponents. His past comments about religion, including a statement during a Texas Legislature debate where he said “God is non-binary”, have drawn criticism, as have remarks about biological sexes and other contentious topics.

Hunter Biden’s own challenges include allegations related to foreign business dealings, a history of tax evasion, illegal weapon possession, and battles with drug addiction.
