LABUBU and the 2026 FIFA World Cup
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is just around the corner, promising a wave of national pride and incredible goals, not to mention the beloved LABUBU character.
Many are already familiar with POP MART’s popular THE MONSTERS collection, which features an adorable, bushy character adorned on designer bags and wallets everywhere.
LABUBU has teamed up with the anime “One Piece” and is now collaborating with FIFA for the World Cup. After all, is there a more fitting place for such a trending toy than at one of the largest sporting events?
This mischievous figure is rapidly becoming a global sensation, attracting fans from cities like Los Angeles to Seoul, including a handful of celebrity supporters.
With the World Cup returning to North America for the first time since 1994, POP MART has unveiled the latest collection: THE MONSTERS x FIFA Series. They’ve transformed LABUBU into a blue football hero.
The highlight of this collection is an oversized vinyl plush featuring LABUBU decked out in a World Cup uniform, complete with little football boots and the iconic trophy firmly in hand.
Looking for something unique for your World Cup shopping list? A retail executive mentioned that this collaboration offers more than the typical jerseys, hats, and scarves—it’s something that will appeal to all ages.
This collection includes more than just plush toys; expect pendant keychains, mini lamps, collectible glassware, and football-themed items. Plus, POP MART has planned several pop-up experiences in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada during the tournament.
“This marks the first official sports collaboration for Monsters, and we are excited to partner with FIFA for this historic World Cup in North America,” said Emily Blau, who heads licensing at POP MART Americas. She emphasized that bringing LABUBU to the pitch celebrates fandom, unity, and the power of dreaming big.
Interestingly, one of the key signs that LABUBU has truly captured the soccer scene was on May 21, when a giant version of the character made an appearance in the official FIFA Sound Music Video “Goals,” featuring artists like BLACKPINK’s LISA, Anitta, and Rema.
The official mascots for this World Cup—Clutch the bald eagle, Maple the elk, and Zayu the jaguar—will be present during the event in various locations, but it’s likely that LABUBU, the furry blue character, will steal the spotlight.
Currently, the POP MART’s THE MONSTERS x FIFA series collection is available for purchase online and at stores around the country.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to kick off on June 11 in Mexico City, with South Africa facing off against the host nation, Mexico.
