Authorities announced on Friday that Hulk Hogan’s death was due to natural causes, concluding an almost year-long investigation that found no evidence of any criminal wrongdoing.
Rob Shaw, a spokesperson for the Clearwater, Florida police, mentioned in a statement that the investigation included extensive witness interviews and the review of various audio materials throughout last year. They’ve officially classified Hogan’s case as a “death of natural causes.”
“I want to express my gratitude to Mr. Bollea’s family—Skye, Nick, and Brooke—as well as their attorney Kevin Hayslett for their cooperation,” Shaw added. “Their willingness to share deeply personal information during such a difficult time was vital for our investigation.”
Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died on July 24, 2025, at his Clearwater home. A detailed report, released recently, sheds light on how the wrestling star spent his last days.
According to investigators, several close acquaintances noted that Hogan had been through multiple surgeries and was feeling unwell prior to his passing.
On the day of his death, he was reportedly in a recliner with his wife Skye and two medical professionals when he suddenly realized he had stopped breathing. Skye called for emergency help while one of the medical personnel administered CPR.
He was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Initially, officials stated there were no signs of foul play.
Still, Hogan’s daughter, Brooke, has publicly voiced her concerns regarding the circumstances surrounding her father’s death. However, the police report stated that a private autopsy confirmed Hogan’s death was attributed solely to unavoidable natural causes, without any significant traumatic or toxicological factors.
“Following a thorough review of statements, medical records, surveillance footage, and a visual examination of Mr. Bollea’s body, we found no evidence to suggest his death was anything other than from natural causes,” investigators concluded.
“This case is closed and deemed non-criminal.”
Hogan was 71 years old.
