Father Arrested in Washington for Son’s Murder
A father from Washington state has been arrested on charges related to the suspected murder of his 4-year-old son, whose body was allegedly buried beneath the family’s home.
Jacob Bevins, 36, faces several serious charges, including felony second-degree murder, felony first-degree manslaughter, and unlawful disposal of human remains, in addition to making false statements to officials.
This situation began when police reached out to Jacob on May 12 after receiving reports that his 6-year-old daughter was missing. Thankfully, she was found safe with her mother; however, Aiden, his 4-year-old son, was still unaccounted for.
Initially, Jacob claimed that Aiden was staying with relatives in another state, but when those relatives were contacted, they denied ever having seen him.
During a later interrogation, Jacob admitted to fatally striking Aiden in the head. He later tried to alter his narrative, saying Aiden had fallen and hit his head while being chased to the bathroom.
On May 15, after a search, investigators uncovered the remains of a child who had been missing for nearly a year, found inside a garbage bag under the house.
A local resident, Tammy Pratt, noted that her granddaughter had seen disturbed dirt near the property, expressing concern about safety for the children who play in the area.
Authorities confirmed that the child’s injuries were consistent with blunt force trauma, which did not align with the father’s altered account of events.
In addition, former foster parents of the children indicated that they had raised concerns about the kids’ welfare to Child Protective Services multiple times before the tragic incident occurred.
