Lauren Boebert confronts reporter about Thomas Massie affair claims

Lauren Boebert Confronts Reporter Over Alleged Relationship Scandal

Rep. Lauren Boebert, a Republican from Colorado, had a tense exchange with a Fox News Digital reporter concerning allegations of a sexual relationship involving Rep. Thomas Massie from Kentucky. The claims were brought up by a woman who identified herself as Massie’s former girlfriend.

“First of all, it’s you!” Boebert exclaimed, reacting to the reporter’s questions about the scandal. “If you’re going to get me into this, it seems like the sexist stuff is out of control. So we have the clickbait you were looking for.”

After this initial outburst, Boebert chose not to elaborate on the allegations. This confrontation occurred following her comments about President Trump’s attempts to challenge Republican incumbents and Massie’s political prospects.

Cynthia West, a previous staffer for Indiana Rep. Victoria Spartz, made accusations against Massie, claiming he boasted about intimate encounters with Boebert shortly after his wife passed away. West also alleged that Massie tried to pay him $5,000 to drop a wrongful termination lawsuit against another Massie associate. These claims emerged just ahead of Massie’s loss in the Republican primary on May 19.

“I don’t want to talk about someone’s exes and their crazy relationships,” Boebert remarked when pressed further by reporters.

Prior to these controversial questions, Boebert had been addressing whether Trump’s support for primary challengers was proving detrimental to Republican policy.

While discussing the results of the primaries, Boebert mentioned, “I think most of the people who lost were due to Republican policies backfiring,” and added, “So obviously Thomas Massey is the only one that I feel a little bit sorry for.”

She was also queried about Massie’s announcement regarding his intention to seek re-election in 2028, which led to speculation about whether he might consider a presidential run. Boebert said she wasn’t sure what office she would pursue if she decided to run again.

As the interview progressed, Boebert expressed uncertainty regarding Massie’s plans, then she reprimanded the reporter for diving into the controversial allegations. “He applied for something,” she stated. “He didn’t say anything specific and I don’t know if he’s going to go ahead with it. Hopefully, he can get out of here and make some money,” she added before abruptly ending the discussion.

Following the exchange, Boebert walked away from the interview, declining to answer any further questions about the allegations raised by West.
