Madison Square Garden’s NBA Finals Seats Raffle Raises $1 Million
Madison Square Garden has revealed the winners of the celebrity row courtside seats for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, managing to raise an impressive $1 million for youth in New York City.
The New York Knicks are back at the Garden for their first home game in the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs in over 25 years. Two prominent companies, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher and Veritas Capital, jointly secured the winning bid for a pair of these much-admired seats.
This historic donation is destined for the MSG Garden of Dreams Foundation, marking the largest single donation in the charity’s history.
James Dolan, chairman and CEO of MSG Sports, expressed gratitude towards Gibson Dunn and Veritas Capital, stating, “We appreciate their incredible generosity.” He also emphasized that the funds will be crucial in shaping the futures of the youth the foundation supports.
The Garden of Dreams Foundation has been assisting disadvantaged children across the area since 2006, having reached approximately 480,000 youths dealing with issues like homelessness, poverty, and illness.
This fundraiser follows the Knicks’ recent commitment to provide hundreds of NBA Finals tickets to underserved youth in inner-city areas. The foundation will receive 250 tickets for Games 3 and 4, with an additional 250 if Game 6 is played at the arena.
Ramzi Musallam, CEO and Managing Partner of Veritas Capital, stated, “Supporting underprivileged youth aligns perfectly with our values, and we’re thrilled to assist their mission.”
Barbara Becker, Chairman and Managing Partner of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, added, “It’s rewarding to see our pro bono work extend into the Knicks community and positively impact future fans in the tri-state area.”
