Comedian Rosie O’Donnell is heading back to the U.S. from her new home in Ireland, despite previously claiming she would never return because of President Trump.
After Trump’s re-election in 2024, O’Donnell bought U.S. stocks and moved her family overseas. For years, she’d expressed disappointment with the U.S., suggesting she might move to Europe long before Trump’s presidency. However, it wasn’t until early 2025, after quietly resigning, that she finally made the move and claimed she wouldn’t look back.
Well, maybe not as much as she once thought.
This week, O’Donnell revealed on TikTok that she’s in New York for the summer.
Check it out (if you’re up for it):
O’Donnell shared that she would be performing in the city at the end of July, announcing the venue while at the Tony Awards.
During the awards ceremony, she was spotted smiling at Trump from the red carpet.
Though she claims to have disdain for America, it seems American money still attracts her.
O’Donnell insists she has no regrets about leaving the “horrible” U.S., yet this isn’t her first visit back. In January, she returned to “see if it was safe” to be near Trump at the White House.
She returned again in April and mentioned spending two weeks in the States on that trip.
Now, she’s back for at least two months.
It appears her timeline of “never” keeps changing.
Clearly, Trump occupies a significant space in O’Donnell’s thoughts. She said even her therapist noted that her preoccupation with him—what she calls Trump Derangement Syndrome—was concerning and unhealthy, advising her to ease off the fixation. She admitted she often finds it hard to go more than two hours without venting about Trump.
Just last month, she was even seen expressing thoughts about Trump’s demise.
