Taylor Swift experienced a Knicks moment on the red carpet: 'I did what I could'

Taylor Swift’s Knicks Fandom Shines at Songwriters Hall of Fame

Taylor Swift’s enthusiasm for the Knicks was a major talking point at the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony in New York on Thursday night.

On the red carpet, Evan Lamberg, president of Universal Music Publishing, expressed gratitude to Swift for her loud support of the Knicks the previous night. During Game 4 of the NBA Finals, the singing sisters Este and Alana Haim acted as the Knicks’ unofficial cheerleaders from Celebrity Row.

“Thanks to the Knicks for their good fortune,” Lamberg said after the Knicks managed to defeat the Spurs 107-106, marking a significant upset in NBA Finals history. “I hope they feel like they won.”

“Oh my god, you know I did the best I could. I just have to keep the energy up. No doubt about it!” Swift jokingly remarked, eliciting laughter from those around her.

At 36 years old, Swift now holds the record as the youngest woman inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame during a ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

Her fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, along with their mothers, were also present. The night before, Swift cheered on the Knicks just a few blocks away at Madison Square Garden, sporting a blue and orange T-shirt alongside actress Mariska Hargitay.

Swift, along with the Haim sisters, nearly drew all eyes on Celebrity Row, with her fans buzzing about their vibrant presence. There’s a moment caught on video where Swift can be heard telling someone that they were ready to bring the energy.

In a fascinating tidbit, Swift and Kelce are reportedly renting Madison Square Garden for their upcoming wedding on July 3, with the estimated cost around $3 million.

The Knicks are on the verge of clinching their first championship in 53 years, with Game 5 taking place in San Antonio on Saturday.
