Uber Offers Discounts for Soccer Fans
Uber is stepping up to help soccer fans during the World Cup with some appealing offers. Among these, one discount stands out: if your team exits the tournament, you can snag a 30% discount on your future rides.
To take advantage of this deal, you just need to open the app and tap on the “Select Team” feature. Choose the country you’re rooting for and hope they don’t get knocked out too soon. It’s a great way to skip the crowded bars and the drama of the game day, as they put it.
Just a heads up: the maximum discount you can receive is $7, and it’s available for one passenger per ride.
But that’s not all—there are other deals soccer enthusiasts might appreciate before the matches kick off.
Stadium Shuttle Service
Uber has rolled out a shuttle service at four venues across the U.S., making it a bit more affordable and convenient to catch the games. Shuttles will be available shortly after matches in major cities like New York, New Jersey, Boston, Miami, and Dallas. This effort aims to combat inflated prices during the tournament.
Prepaid fares for shuttles are automatically set within the Uber app, starting at $45 in Miami, Dallas, and Boston, while New York and New Jersey fares are $49. To use this feature, simply click on the shuttle icon in the app and book either ahead of time or on game day.
Travel Pass
For commuters, there’s the Travel Pass, which goes for $4.99 in the U.S., allowing users to save up to $85 on Uber and Uber Eats. In Mexico, passes are priced at $1.99, while in Canada, they’re $3.99, and each is valid for up to two weeks.
Cashback on Meals
Dining during the tournament doesn’t have to drain your wallet. When you order through Uber Eats Dine Out, you can receive 30% off your meal (up to $35). This makes trying local foods even more appealing for fans visiting host cities.
To earn cashback, just book a Dine Out through the Uber Eats app and upload a photo of your receipt before leaving the restaurant.
Airport Navigation
While this might not save you any money, it could save you some valuable time. Uber has introduced a new in-app route guide that directs passengers from their gates to designated Uber pickup spots, aiming to cut down on confusion at airports. This is specifically for users transiting through airports in host cities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
