A “suspicious” fire erupted in the Pacific Palisades office of Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt on Thursday, as he reported to various outlets.
Pratt acknowledged that his office, located in the Highlands Circle complex at 1515 Palisades Dr., is under investigation for arson.
“I have to be cautious not to interfere with the arson investigation, but I must say this situation seems quite suspicious,” Pratt shared shortly after a controversial post-election video was released.
“We’re waiting on details from the investigators, but the timing feels odd, especially given the tumultuous events of the past two weeks leading up to the election.”
The fire ignited Thursday afternoon, prompting a response from multiple units of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters worked on-site to put out the flames while investigators began determining the cause. Thankfully, there were no immediate reports of injuries.
The office is situated in a building that previously hosted the famous Cosa Nostra restaurant and was undergoing renovations following an earlier Palisades fire in January.
Pratt remarked, “This city has a lot of dishonest individuals who won’t hesitate to silence those addressing the corruption in our community,” also expressing gratitude to the fire department for their efforts.
“I doubt this was an accident, and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if it was retaliation for my stance against Karen Bass and Nithya Raman, merely doing my civic duty and trying to make our flawed city better.”
The investigation into the fire’s cause continues.
