Jalen Brunson’s Sister Reacts to Criticism

It’s clear that Jalen Brunson’s sister, Erika, isn’t holding back. After her brother’s astounding 45-point performance led the New York Knicks to their first NBA championship since 1973, she had some strong words for the naysayers, especially for Las Vegas Aces head coach Becky Hammon. Hammon had previously doubted Brunson’s capabilities due to his size.

After Hammon’s comments resurfaced on social media, Erika took to X, questioning, “Now what?” In another post, she expressed her feelings about the doubt surrounding her brother with, “Unfortunately, I’m narrow-minded and IDC. What, now!!! Where do the goalposts move now?”

Brunson really showed everyone what he’s made of. He guided the Knicks to a solid 53-29 season, ultimately securing the No. 3 seed in the playoffs. On their way to the championship, they faced and triumphed over teams like the Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, and Cleveland Cavaliers before confronting the Spurs for the title.

It’s interesting to think about how the basketball community might have anticipated a standout moment for Victor Wembanyama, the 7-foot-6 player expected to rise to prominence. However, he seemed to falter, claiming the Spurs had control of the series, despite their losses. Meanwhile, Brunson not only secured the Finals MVP but is also hailed as one of the greatest players in Knicks history.

Even President Trump weighed in, sending his congratulations via Truth Social. He praised Jim Dolan and the Knicks, highlighting the series’ thrilling games and calling them possibly the best in basketball history.

While celebrating the victory, Erika proclaimed, “We also have a superstar born tonight. His name is Jalen Brunson.” That captures the moment perfectly, really.
