UFC Freedom 250 Fan Fest Kicks Off in Washington, D.C.
The gates have officially opened for the second day of the UFC Freedom 250 Fan Fest and Watch Party, attracting a huge crowd of mixed martial arts fans to the heart of the nation.
This public event, located at the Ellipse just north of the White House, is poised to become the largest viewing party in the history of martial arts. While the actual matches will be held on the South Lawn for a limited audience of military and official guests, the Ellipse will transform into a vibrant gathering place for up to 85,000 fans.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early. Gates for the free event will open at 3:30 PM ET, featuring a lineup of interactive exhibits, athlete appearances, and unique merchandise offers.
Organizers have warned attendees to allow plenty of time for security checks ahead of the main card broadcast, scheduled for 8 PM ET, if they want a good spot in front of the large custom-built LED screen on the lawn.
Celebrating 250 Years of America
This event marks the 250th anniversary of the United States, with a stacked card that has caught the attention of the sports community.
| Game | Weight Class | Match Up |
|---|---|---|
| Main Event | Lightweight Championship | Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje |
| Sub-Main Event | Heavyweight Championship | Alex Pereira vs. Cyril Gane |
In total, seven matches are on the agenda for Sunday night, featuring both a main event and a semi-main event.
Logistics and Security
Given the event’s location near the White House, security measures are expected to be stringent. Local law enforcement and intelligence agencies have established a fortified perimeter around the 52-acre park. Participants will need to show a government-issued photo ID and are prohibited from bringing food, beverages, or large bags.
The broadcast and viewing festivities are expected to conclude around midnight local time.
