Trump Celebrates Iran Deal Announcement

UPDATE: 4:40 PM: President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to announce his celebration over the forthcoming Iran deal, which is anticipated to be signed on June 19th. He expressed his belief that the agreement will foster peace and security across the region.

“Many presidents have tried to make peace with Iran, and all have failed before me,” he stated. “The Leaders of the Region have, for the first time, found a President who can help them achieve real peace. With the opening of the Strait upon the signing of the deal on Friday, for purposes of mine removal, oil will flow on both ends again for the Region, and the World!”

2:55 PM: In another post, Trump declared that the deal with Iran is “now complete.”

“The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all! I hereby fully authorize the toll-free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously, I authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” the president shared on Truth Social.

No further details about the deal’s logistics have been provided by Trump.

This announcement comes after heightened tensions with Iran following the start of Operation Epic Fury on February 28th. The U.S. and Iran reached a fragile ceasefire in early April, leading to the implementation of a naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz as both parties aimed for a lasting peace agreement.
