For several years, billionaire investor Peter Thiel has been at the helm of a clandestine group that gathered tech leaders, government officials, and financial experts for exclusive retreats. These meetings, held away from public scrutiny, covered various provocative topics including relationships, cult formation, and even scenarios related to World War III, according to recent reports.
Leaked documents from this invite-only organization, called “Dialogue,” have revealed sensitive details about numerous members, such as their political leanings, personal preferences, and forecasts concerning the future of artificial intelligence. An online news outlet, Wired, brought this to light.
Details about this summer’s meeting near Dublin indicate sessions were designated with titles like “How’s Your Sex Life?”, “Building a Cult,” and “Surviving World War III.” The findings suggest that the organization failed to uphold promises of confidentiality regarding its members.
Dialogue, interestingly, seems to double as a matchmaking entity.
As reported by Wired, attendees were surveyed about whether they were “looking for love” and invited to participate in a network aimed at creating “meaningful connections for exceptional individuals.”
Among the disclosed recordings, members listed their unique skills, which ranged from “funhouse building” and backcountry skiing to claims of “compassion and existential fear,” as the report noted.
When it came to predicting the future, a number of attendees were inclined to think that AI would lead to significant societal transformations.
Some even made forecasts about mass job loss, an impending “AI winter,” potential domestic terrorism aimed at data facilities, and possibly a religious revival triggered by technological changes.
The leaked information also included directories showcasing prominent names from various sectors including government, finance, technology, academia, and national security, with well-known figures like Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Representative Jim Himes (D-Conn.), and Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale.
For the upcoming 2026 retreat, the registration document listed 222 attendees, distinguished by their affiliation status, whether “active member” or “guest.”
The event is slated to occur between August 12th and 16th.
Attendees reportedly include executives from tech giants like Google and DeepMind, billionaires from hedge funds, best-selling authors, and leaders from religious organizations.
This conference, concentrating on topics such as artificial intelligence, nuclear threats, and the prospects for civilization, mirrors Thiel’s longstanding areas of interest.
Recently, Thiel has moved his family to Buenos Aires, Argentina, driven by concerns about taxes, political unrest, and even the looming specter of nuclear warfare or AI-related disasters.
Known for his unconventional viewpoints on AI, existential risk, and various apocalyptic themes, Thiel became a New Zealand citizen in 2011 and is apparently looking into further citizenship options amidst fears of global instability or crises.
In recent discussions, Thiel has voiced opinions regarding religion and existential fears, warning that concerns over such threats might be employed to advocate for powerful international governance.
Nobody from Thiel’s circle, including those mentioned in the Wired article, has commented on these revelations. The Post has attempted to reach out for responses from Thiel, Cruz, Himes, and Lonsdale.
