Actor Faizon Love Arrested Over Child Support Issues
Faizon Love, known for his role as Big Worm in the 1995 film Friday and Gimbel’s manager in elf, was reportedly arrested on Tuesday. He claims he is unable to pay child support.
Sources indicate that Love told the judge he is currently unemployed and cannot afford the $250,000 that Tiffany Lee, the mother of his child, asserts he owes in child support. In a paternity lawsuit linked to his arrest, court documents revealed that the highest gross income he reported over the last five years was $13,000.
The 58-year-old also stated that his income for the past year was actually $0. Additionally, he explained that he missed an April hearing related to the child support case due to a medical issue.
Despite these circumstances, Love was ordered to serve 90 days in jail back in May. He was arrested in Tampa, Florida, and faces two counts of contempt of court. Officials have stated that he is currently being held without bail at the Orient Road Jail in Tampa.
A booking photo released by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office showed Love wearing an orange jumpsuit, looking sternly at the camera.
This isn’t the first run-in Love has had with the law. In early 2025, he was accused of assaulting a hotel clerk in California after a dispute involving a credit card machine. The incident escalated, leading to charges of felony assault when he allegedly threw the machine at her, injuring her glasses. A judge decided there was sufficient evidence to proceed with a trial after the matter was investigated.
Additionally, Love was ordered to pay $500 and received a 180-day suspended sentence for an assault incident that occurred at Ohio’s John Glenn Columbus International Airport in 2017. He pled no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge after being caught on camera assaulting an attendant at that location.
