2026 FIFA World Cup Set for the U.S.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place in the United States, marking the first time since 1994 that the country hosts the event. During this period, approximately 1.24 million international tourists are expected to visit.
Sarah Gonzalez from Blaze TV describes the current context as a bit odd, remarking, “What we’re seeing is this weird situation where, I think, some people really dislike this country and Donald Trump… Yet here come all these tourists for the World Cup, and they’re just amazed by how wonderful everything is here.” She chuckled, sharing a lighthearted sentiment.
To back her observation, she shows a video that gained popularity online featuring Japanese tourists in Texas.
“So, what’s your impression of Texas, America?” a reporter inquires.
“Texas is awesome! Everything’s enormous!” a tourist enthusiastically responds.
It’s evident that Sarah appreciates their open affection for America. She shares, “It’s really touching to see how much joy they find in simple things that we often overlook. It’s just so enlightening.” She then shares various social media snippets where tourists express excitement over school buses, “wild squirrels,” and popular fast-food chains like Taco Bell and Buc-ee’s.
One tourist, upon visiting Bass Pro Shops, expressed sheer astonishment.
“That’s the Southern way, Freddie,” Sarah jested, referring to a German traveler who had shown great enthusiasm about his time in America.
She adds, “As heartwarming as it is to see people genuinely appreciating what this country has to offer, you’ve got outlets like CNN trying to downplay these positive sentiments, questioning whether they might be misinformed or if America has serious flaws,” Sarah disparaged.
She played a clip from CNN’s “The Situation Room,” where Christine Brennan commented on how the global perception is often negative, highlighting how certain segments of the world find Americans unfriendly. “It’s unfortunate because, while we have visitors here saying the opposite, that Americans are wonderful, the image remains tainted,” she said.
“Really? It seems like everyone here is enjoying themselves,” Sarah quipped in disbelief.
